No Bag Day – Grade 9’s Journey of Learning Beyond the Classroom

At M.S. Kawar International School, we believe that learning isn’t confined to textbooks—it’s found in experiences, laughter, curiosity, and community spirit. Our Grade 9 students had an enriching series of activities under the theme “No Bag Day”, blending fun, learning, and empathy in unforgettable ways. Here’s a glimpse of their journey:

🧠 1. Mathematics Games (14/05/25)

The day kicked off with some brain-boosting fun as students engaged in mathematics games—interactive activities designed to challenge their logical thinking, problem-solving, and speed. With defined rules and goals, these games turned complex math concepts into exciting puzzles, promoting healthy competition and teamwork among students.

“Math isn’t about numbers, it’s about understanding—and what better way than through games?”

💃 2. Zumba Session (14/05/25)

Next came the energy-packed Zumba session, where students danced their way to fitness! With Latin, Bollywood, hip-hop, and pop beats pumping through the speakers, it felt more like a party than a workout. Students enjoyed every moment, moving freely and joyfully while learning the value of staying fit in a fun, rhythmic way.

“Zumba makes you forget you’re exercising—until the next morning!”

📰 3. Visit to Dainik Bhaskar Printing Office (14/05/25)

An eye-opening visit to the Dainik Bhaskar printing office brought the world of media to life. Students were amazed to see giant paper rolls, towering printing machines worth ₹5.5 crore each, and the scale of newspaper production. They learned that Dainik Bhaskar is printed in 14 states and in 4 languages, truly understanding its impact as India’s leading daily.

“The printing press visit made us realize how much effort goes into every newspaper we read.”

🗣️ 4. Group Discussion: “Social Media” (26/08/25)

In a thought-provoking group discussion, students explored the topic: “Social Media”. They shared insights on how platforms like Instagram, WhatsApp, and YouTube have become part of everyday life. One student compared it beautifully to the circulatory system—essential, yet needing balance.

“Like arteries carry blood, social media carries thoughts—both must be handled with care.”

🧵 5. Button Stitching Activity (26/08/25)

Life skills took center stage during the button stitching activity, where students learned to sew buttons on shirts and fabrics. It was a simple yet vital lesson in self-reliance and fine motor skills, proving that knowing small tasks can make a big difference.

“Sometimes, the smallest skills can stitch together the biggest confidence.”

❤️ 6. Visit to Divyang Ashram, Pali (26/08/25)

The most heartfelt part of this journey was the visit to Divyang Ashram in Pali. Students spent time with differently-abled individuals, learning lessons of empathy, gratitude, and compassion. Interacting with the residents left a lasting impact, reminding students to value their abilities and extend kindness always.

“Real strength is not in what we can do, but in how we uplift others.”

🌈 Conclusion

The “No Bag Day” initiative wasn’t just a title—it was a feeling. Grade 9 students walked away from each experience with more than just memories; they gained skills, insight, and inspiration. Through games, movement, learning visits, and social interaction, they truly lived the belief that every day holds something good—if you’re willing to see it.
